Vincent Mercandetti earned a communication degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Ct. and now works at the Worldwide Leader in Sports, otherwise known as ESPN. Before joining ESPN at its headquarters in Bristol, Ct., he served as an intern for ESPN Radio in West Palm Beach, Fla. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., raised in central New Jersey and now currently residing (when not in school) in Boynton Beach, Fla, Vincent has never escaped a surrounding of Yankee fans.
The passion of pinstripes is in his blood and now reaches across four family generations. In other words, the Mercandetti family has closely followed the Yankees from the days of Babe Ruth to Joe Dimaggio to Mickey Mantle to Reggie Jackson to Derek Jeter. Vincent's uncle was at the stadium for Roger Maris' record tying 60th home run, his parents attended Jackson's infamous three home run game in the 1978 World Series and he himself attended Dwight Gooden's no-hitter. Vincent hopes to one day have a televised radio show where he can analyze sports ala "Mike and the Maddog" or "Mike and Mike in the Morning."
